We Believe…

What we believe is based on the biblical principles and examples God has provided for us in the Holy Scriptures.  The following beliefs are NOT the final Word on Biblical truth, but are the foundation upon which we build, at ROLWC. (Luke 1:1)

The Inspired Scriptures —

Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2 Tim. 3:15-17, 1 Peter 1:23-25, Heb. 4:12).

The One True Godhead —

The triune and one true Godhead is comprised of three (3) separate and distinct personalities, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed and function as one entity.

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ —

Jesus is the eternal Son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary work on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead and His exaltation to the right hand of God. (Isaiah 9:6-7, Luke 1:30-35), 1 Corinthians 15:3 & 4, Philippians 2:9-11)

The Lordship of Christ —

Jesus is Lord over all things in heaven, in the earth and under the earth. (Matthew 28:18, Acts 2:36, Romans 10:1-13, 1 Corinthians 12:3, Philippians 2:9-10).

Salvation —

Salvation Is the free gift of God to man, separate from works and the law, and that it operates by God’s grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Ephesians 2:8).

The New Birth —

Jesus said: “Ye must be born again”.  Therefore we believe that being born again (of the Spirit) means we take part in the death, burial and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit, when we confess Him as Lord of our lives.  We also believe that every “born again” person should continually walk in grace, from a heart of righteousness and purity, being an example to both the Believer and the Unbeliever. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Baptism in Water —

All Believers should follow Christ’s example and be baptized (totally immersed in water) to show we share in Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, and now progress in newness of life. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4)

The Baptism In The Holy Spirit  —

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is an important and necessary experience in the life of every Believe.  It is not dependent upon a Believer’s worthiness, but is the free gift of God. We also believe that the normal entitlement and expectation of all Believers today, and in the early Christian Church, should be to receive the Father’s promise—the Baptism in the Holy Spirit—according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ.  This Baptism in the Holy Spirit brings an overflowing fullness of the Spirit, a keeping-power for daily living, a deepening reverence for God, and an intensified consecration and dedication to God and His work. (John 3:3-7, Acts 2:38, Ephesians 1:13)

The Tithe Is Holy —

The tithe (the first 10% of a person’s individual, gross earnings and other income) is holy unto God and that each Believer is mandated to continually bring all the tithes into the storehouse of his/her home Church and give free-will offerings to God.  We believe that tithing is an outward expression of the Lordship of Christ in each Believer’s life, signifying the unity of Christ’s Body [the Church] in support of the Lord’s work. (Genesis 14:18-20, 28:20-22, Leviticus 27:30-32, Proverbs 3:9-10, Malachai 3:6-18, Matthew 22:23, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Hebrews 6:20, 7:1-10)
